AHCA praises Levin, Waxman, Dingell, Stark & Pallone for their leadership on H.R. 5712
Washington, DC – American Health Care Association (AHCA) President & CEO Bruce Yarwood issued the following statement today regarding H.R. 5712, the Veterans’, Seniors’ and Children’s Health Technical Corrections Act of 2010. Passage of the technical fix eliminating the one-year delay in implementation of RUG-IV allows the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to complete the transition to RUG-IV by October 1, 2010.
“I commend the House for its approval today of these technical corrections to the Medicare payment system for skilled nursing care.
“While highly complex, the necessary correction to this regulatory matter will have a far-reaching impact and offers a more complete picture of the care needs of long term and post-acute care patients.
“I thank Chairmen Levin, Waxman, Dingell, Stark, and Pallone for their leadership in advancing this important correction to the nation’s new health care reform law.”
