AHCA is seeking a Senior Director of
Government Affairs with a commitment to improving lives by delivering solutions
for quality care. The person in this role will serve as a leading representative of AHCA’s positions
and policies before the U.S. Congress, the executive branch, regulatory bodies,
other organizations, and coalitions with specific focus on therapy issues. This individual will play a significant role
in working with association members and other staff in setting and promoting
industry policies consistent with AHCA’s policy objectives on therapy.
Skills &
Requirements:
B.A. plus minimum of 10 years related government affairs experience, preferably in
a health and public policy related field. Extensive relationships with Members of Congress and their staff and/or
White House political and health care policy personnel. Knowledge of,
and extensive experience with, the legislative and regulatory process.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Comprehensive
understanding of the legislative process, long term care policy and the
politics of our membership.
- Extensive
relationships with Members of Congress and their staff, along with a working
relationship with Administration or Department of Health and Human Services
political and career staff.
- Expert
knowledge of laws, regulations, policies related to therapy and other long term
and post-acute care programs.
- Ability
to prioritize, coordinate, manage and direct issues through the political
process.
- Exceptional written and oral communication
skills, and have the ability to communicate effectively with internal and
external audiences.
