Quality First, Keeping the Promise provides members with a framework that motivates and enables facilities to meet and even exceed the government’s quality standards. The project’s centerpiece, which we call the 7-5-5 Plan, is built upon a foundation of seven Principles that point to the five Vital Signs of quality and supported by the five Performance Tools.
This plan is designed around the understanding that quality is a continuous pursuit – a pursuit that necessitates benchmarking, persistent measurement, thorough analysis and unremitting improvement. It is rooted in the idea that every facility administrator and leader has a responsibility to respond to the needs of multiple audiences. In short, the 7-5-5 Plan was created to help facilities manage their quality improvement programs and report progress to staff, residents, patients, families, and the general public.
How Does My Facility Begin the 7-5-5 Plan?
The 7-5-5 Plan does not require a facility to take a pledge; rather it is a concept developed by long term care experts and thought leaders on quality and based on decades of research and experience in long term care. To launch the framework in your organization, simply commit to and promote the seven Principles, select the customized combination of Performance Tools your organization needs to succeed, and then monitor the five Vital Signs to track progress.
