How You Can Help

If enacted, the Congressional proposal to reduce the provider assessment rate for the long term and post-acute care profession would begin as early as July 1st. That means we have less than a month to make our voice heard. Here are a few ways that you can take a stand and let your voice be heard on this critical issue:

  1. Attend the AHCA/NCAL Congressional Briefing in Washington, D.C. July 9 - 10
The AHCA/NCAL Congressional Briefing gives you a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face your Members of Congress and their staff in Washington, D.C. It’s a great opportunity to discuss long term care legislative issues in your own words, including the negative impact of proposed reduction to provider assessments. With the presidential elections being held this year, this event is a must attend.
  2. Participate in a Congressional Town Hall Meeting in your State
As Members of Congress head home for summer recess, many host town hall meetings in their districts with constituents just like you. Participating in these meetings sends a message that you’re involved and want to take every opportunity to share your opinion with your lawmaker. To find out about town hall meetings in your area, contact Meredith Freed.

  3. Host a Facility Tour with your Member of Congress
Hosting your tour is easy with our “How To” Guide, and AHCA/NCAL staff is here to help. We can support your efforts with media, talking points, and more. To get started, contact Matt Smyth.
