Social Media

Use Social Media to Spread The Word About Your NSNCW Celebration!

**2018 observance to be held May 13-19, 2018**

Activity professionals can use social media to share photos, videos and best moments from your festivities for National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW), formerly known as National Nursing Home Week. Suggest to families and visitors that they can view many activities on their home computers like it was an online family album.

You know about Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Today, two visually-oriented social media sites may provide a more compelling experience for activity professionals as the sites are based on pictures or video rather than text.

Remember to use the hashtag, #NSNCW!

Pinterest is a pinboard-style photo-sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, and hobbies. Users can browse other pinboards for images, "re-pin" images to their own pinboards, or "like" photos. Pinterest users can upload, save, sort and manage images, known as pins, and other media content (e.g. videos) through collections known as pinboards. Pinboards are typically organized by a central topic or theme.  Check it out at www.pinterest.com and search for terms relevant to this year's theme etc.

Instagram is an online photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables its users to take pictures and videos, apply digital enhancers to them, and share them on a variety of social networking sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. A distinctive feature is that it confines photos to a square shape, similar to Kodak Instamatic and Polaroid images of the past. Users can also share short videos lasting up to 15 seconds. Check it out at www.instagram.com.

Facebook Also upload photos and videos to www.facebook.com/NationalSkilledNursingCareWeek/. For anything you send to AHCA include your name/ title, facility and how to contact you. Post pictures and events on Facebook and be sure to use the hash tag #NSNCW. Material may also appear in Provider Magazine, AHCA Notes, a monthly newsletter, or Capital Connection, a weekly e-newsletter. All photos with identifiable persons must be accompanied by AHCA’s image release which can be downloaded here.
