In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month this May, The Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health in Nursing Facilities (COE-NF) is excited to offer a comprehensive five-week training plan designed to promote mental well-being in your facility.

Here’s what you’ll gain each week:
  • Week 1: Empathy and Stigma - Learn to reduce stigma and connect with residents on a deeper level.   
  • Week 2: De-escalation Strategies - Master techniques to calmly and effectively manage challenging situations.   
  • Week 3: Major Depressive Disorder - Identify signs and implement supportive strategies for residents with depression.   
  • Week 4: Generalized Anxiety Disorder - Gain insights into anxiety disorders and learn practical ways to provide comfort.   
  • Week 5: Bipolar Disorder and Schizophreni​a - Understand serious mental illnesses and how to offer informed support.

Each section includes bite-sized learning videos, informative educational flyers, and knowledge-building trivia questions.
