SCOTUS Approves Trump Administration Termination of CHNV Parole Program

Legal; Workforce

The Supreme Court of the United States recently granted the Trump Administration’s request to pause a lower court order staying the termination of the CHNV (Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, Venezuelan) humanitarian parole program for the duration of the court challenge. This means that the Trump Administration can now proceed to terminate the program while the litigation to keep the program in place continues.

It is important to note that the CHNV humanitarian parole program is separate from temporary protected status (TPS). CHNV allowed individuals outside of the USA from the noted countries to apply for humanitarian parole, and if approved, they were issued a parole document that allowed them to travel here and remain in the country for a temporary period.

AHCA/NCAL will continue to monitor this matter and provide relevant updates.
