The LTC Data Cooperative Has Expanded!

Research and Data; Long Term Care; Assisted Living

NCAL is pleased to announce that the Long-Term Care (LTC) Data Cooperative for assisted living providers has expanded. The LTC Data Cooperative has recently added the electronic medical record (EMR) vendor Yardi to the fold. With this expansion of EMR vendors (PointClickCare, MatrixCare, and Yardi) we will now be able to capture even more data on behalf of assisted living providers.

What is the LTC Data Cooperative?

The LTC Data Cooperative is a novel data resource that assembles skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities EMR data. This long-term care provider-led effort, funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), provides invaluable data analytics. Most notably, providers can use the provider reports obtained through enrollment in the LTC Data Cooperative to make internal clinical and operational quality improvements.

The mission of the LTC Data Cooperative is to improve quality of care within post-acute and long-term care facilities by compiling the most comprehensive data on residents nationwide – and to translate these data into accessible and actionable information designed to help providers improve care. We fulfill this mission by:
  • Providing meaningful reports based on EMR data to participating providers.
  • Hosting Quarterly Town Halls to facilitate connections
  • Identifying provider priorities that will lead to practical tools and actionable insights

Why is NCAL Advocating Assisted Living Providers to Enroll?

There is a lack of comparative data for assisted living providers. Data is necessary for quality improvement efforts and to benchmark industry metrics. We use this data to support efforts at the individual community, state, and national levels. NCAL is encouraging all assisted living providers to enroll in the LTC Data Cooperative.

How Do Assisted Living Providers Enroll?

Enrolling is simple! Email LTCDataCooperative@ahca.org and tell us who your EMR provider is. Even if your EMR provider is not currently engaged in the LTC Data Cooperative you can still join and reap the benefits of the reports, Town Halls, and other opportunities. After receiving your email, a participation agreement will be sent to you. Once you sign the participation agreement there are no other actions you are required to take. Data will be obtained on your behalf for participating EMR vendors and provider reports will be automatically sent on a regular basis to all who participate.
