AHCA is seeking a Vice President of Government Affairs with a commitment to improving lives by delivering solutions for quality care. The person in this role will serve as the primary liaison to the Council on Post Acute Care (CPAC). They will ensure that the Council members’ needs are met, value is received for dues paid; issues of importance to members are in the forefront of AHCA/NCAL’s policy agenda. This person is also responsible for communicating the value of AHCA/NCAL membership to Council members, serve as leading representative of AHCA’s positions and policies before the U.S. Congress, the executive branch, regulatory bodies, other organizations, and coalitions. 

Skills & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree plus minimum of 15 years related experience in government affairs, health or public policy related field. Extensive relationships with Members of Congress, their staffs, Administration officials and health care policy personnel. Experience managing complex issues.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Extensive knowledge of the long term and post acute care sector.
  • Extensive experience in government relations.  Knowledge of, and extensive experience with, the legislative and regulatory process.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to harmonize competing interests of industry segments into workable strategies, and the ability to interrelate optimally with staff to evoke maximum performance.
