The American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) are pleased to invite you to attend our 2009 Annual Congressional Briefing. We are excited about this congressional year of change and the prospect of working with you to make a difference. Keeping with the momentum of the time, we want to remind you of this unique opportunity to meet face-to face with members of congress and their staff from your delegation to discuss the long term care legislative issues at the federal level. Pre-registration is now closed for AHCA/NCAL’s Congressional Briefing.
You can still register onsite at the Hyatt Regency Washington on June 3, 2009. The registration desk will be located in the Regency Foyer on the Ballroom level during the following hours:

Hotel Reservations & Travel
Make Your Reservations: To make your hotel reservations, call the Hyatt Regency Washington directly at 202-737-1234 or online.
Room Rates/Taxes: Take advantage of the AHCA/NCAL group rates of $249.00 per night single or $274.00 per night double occupancy plus appropriate tax and service charges. Reservations must be made by May 11, 2009. Reservation requests made after this hotel deadline will be based on availability at the prevailing rate determined by the hotel. The hotel requires a first night deposit of room and tax to guarantee accommodations.

General Information
Registration Payment (NON-MEMBERS ONLY): There is a $199.00 conference registration fee for non-members. Payment for the conference can be made by U.S. Check, American Express, Visa, or MasterCard and must be submitted with your registration form. AHCA/NCAL will not process your registration without full payment.
If paying by check, please make payable in U.S. Dollars to American Health Care Association. To avoid duplicate charges to your credit card, DO NOT mail a copy of your registration form once it has been faxed or posted online. Conference registration confirmations will be e-mailed to you within 30 days of receipt.
Substitutions: Substitutions will be allowed up to two days prior to the conference. Conference registration changes and/or substitutions must be made in writing via fax to 202-898-6302, or e-mail to meetings@ahca.org.
Cancellations/Refunds: Cancellations for non-members received on or before May 11, 2009 will be refunded. All cancellations must be sent in writing and faxed to 202-898-6302, or e-mailed to meetings@ahca.org. Refunds for non-members will be processed within 30 days following the end of the conference. Refund will not be issued for no-shows.
Conference Attire: Business attire is suitable for all meetings, sessions, and receptions. Please remember to bring a sweater or jacket for air-conditioned rooms.
Meetings with Members of Congress: We highly encourage you to set up your own meetings with your members of Congress for Thursday, June 4, 2009. Once the meetings have been scheduled, use our online form to let us know the date, time, and location of the meeting. We can have materials ready for your visit and have an AHCA lobbyist attend with you, if needed.
If you have trouble setting up your own meetings or are unfamiliar with setting up meetings with Members of Congress, email us at congressionalbriefing@ahca.org, and someone will assist you in scheduling a meeting with your legislators.
