Registration

Attendee Eligibility

Participation in this conference is by invitation only and is intended for CEOs and executive level management staff. AHCA/NCAL reserves the right to grant final approval to all registrants. Only fully registered member or non-member attendees are eligible for CE accreditation earned through the conference’s education sessions. Guest registration is for spouses or guests and not intended for individuals who work in the long term care profession. Registration and attendance for companies and individuals who sell or market products and/or services to provider organizations are limited to sponsors only.

NOTE: Provider attendees with multiple business interests that are competitive with event sponsors can participate in their capacity as providers only. Anyone who cannot agree will not be invited back as a Provider but is welcome to inquire with AHCA/NCAL Vendor Relations about event sponsorship opportunities.

General Information

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION PAYMENT
Payment for the conference fees and optional social activities can be made by U.S. Check, American Express, Visa, or MasterCard. AHCA/NCAL will not process your registration without full payment.
 
CONFIRMATIONS 
Registration confirmations will be e-mailed to you via e-mail within 15 days of receipt.
 
SUBSTITUTIONS 
Registration substitutions will be allowed up to two days before the conference. If you must make any changes and/or substitutions, please email meetings@ahca.org.
 
CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS
Registration cancellations received on or before October 20, 2025, will be refunded minus a $55 administrative fee. Any change or cancellation must be made; please email meetings@ahca.org. Refunds will be processed within 15 days after the conference ends. Registration refunds will not be issued after October 20, 2025. Refunds or credits will NOT be granted for no-shows.

CONFERENCE ATTIRE
November in San Diego is very pleasant with average highs around 71°F and lows near 55°F. Business-casual attire is appropriate for all meetings, sessions, and receptions. We recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket for air-conditioned rooms and cooler evenings. For social events, resort wear is perfectly suitable.

SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS AND DIETARY NEEDS
We do our best to include vegan and gluten-free options at every meal. If you require special accommodations or have special dietary needs, please contact AHCA/NCAL at meetings@ahca.org​.

RELIGIOUS ACCOMMODATIONS
Kosher meals will be available. Please be sure to indicate your dietary preference when you register. A dedicated prayer space will also be available throughout the conference.
 
By registering for and/or attending the event, I acknowledge and agree that photographs, video, and other recordings of the event may be taken by AHCA/NCAL or parties acting on behalf of AHCA/NCAL and that these photographs, video, and other recordings may be used by AHCA/NCAL in any media now known or later invented for any purpose related to AHCA/NCAL’s mission, including educational, promotional, and awareness-related use. ROOM RATES & TAXES

MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS EARLY—SPACE IS LIMITED
Take advantage of the special group rate of $419.00 per night (plus 11.80% occupancy tax), single or double occupancy for The Victorian, The Views, and The Cabanas Towers. A $25 daily resort fee will apply. Reservations must be made by Monday, October 20, 2025. AHCA/NCAL will not hold the room block beyond the above-mentioned hotel deadline. Reservation requests made after this hotel deadline will be based on availability at the prevailing rate determined by the hotel. Reservations must be accompanied by a first-night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card. HOTEL RESERVATION & CANCELLATIONS

At the time a reservation is made, a one-night room and tax advance deposit will be charged to the credit card provided. Reservations must be canceled seven (7) days before arrival to avoid a non-refundable charge equal to one night's estimated room.

Health & Safety

​With health and safety remaining a priority for our attendees, we ask that the following be observed:

  1. Being up to date with current vaccines/boosters is preferred for all registered attendees.
  2. Masks are worn at the discretion of the attendees. 
  3. If you experience symptoms of a respiratory illness while onsite at the event, please wear a source control mask when around others indoors. Consider self-quarantine in your hotel room for 24 hours until symptoms resolve. If needed, please contact AHCA/NCAL staff (meetings@ahca.org) for a COVID-19 or flu test kit.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Shah is a Senior Scholar at Stanford University’s School of Medicine and a nationally recognized leader in digital health, AI, and healthcare transformation. A physician, educator, and innovator, he focuses on advancing the adoption of technologies like telemedicine, wearables, and AI to improve care quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. His research at Stanford explores how emerging tools can be implemented in real-world clinical, organizational, and regulatory settings. 

As New York State’s Health Commissioner and later Chief Operating Officer for Clinical Operations at Kaiser Permanente Southern California, he led initiatives that enhanced care delivery and generated significant cost savings. In 2020, he was recognized as one of the 100 US leaders most responsible for “re-imagining and re-humanizing our care system” among the ‘Care 100.’ Dr. Shah is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and a leading voice in digital health and AI. His influential work has been published in top journals such as NEJM and JAMA. He offers insight and practical guidance to long term care leaders adapting to changes in healthcare technology.
