Washington, D. C.
— The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) today announced that “Homemade Happiness” is the theme for the 2013 National Assisted Living Week® (NALW). NALW will be held Sept. 8-14, 2013. The logo is available for communities to use on celebration materials, such as calendars or invitations. To download the logo, visit the NALW website, www.NALW.org
“This year’s theme celebrates the bond created by staff, residents, and families as they build warm, welcoming, and vibrant homes for residents,” said David Kyllo, NCAL’s executive director. “National Assisted Living Week is the time to recognize these efforts, small and large, and of every individual in a community that turns a residence into home for many assisted living residents.
NCAL established NALW in 1995 to recognize the role and services provided daily by more than 31,000 assisted living communities across the nation to 750,000 residents who need some assistance with daily living.
As NALW approaches, those interested are encouraged to visit the NALW website
to find the NALW planning guide and product catalog and additional materials that will help assisted living communities develop and promote interesting and well-attended events. The planning guide will be mailed to NCAL members in June. Others may request a copy of the planning guide by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
