U.S. Department of Labor and Administration’s AI Action Plan

​​​The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) recently shared thoughts on the release of President Trump’s artificial intelligence policy strategy, “Winning the Race: America’s AI Action Plan.” This strategy was developed in response to the President’s January Executive Order, “Removing Barriers to American Leadership in Artificial Intelligence.”  

The plan includes two areas outlining the Labor Department’s role in creating what it notes as a future-ready workforce: “Empower American Workers in the Age of AI” and “Train a Skilled Workforce for AI Infrastructure.” Some of the proposed actions for the DOL in these initiatives, in collaboration with other federal agencies, include prioritizing AI skills development as a core objective of education and workforce funding streams, including career and technical education, apprenticeships, and other federally supported skills initiatives.
