WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) today revealed “Season of Reflection” as this year’s theme for National Assisted Living Week®. The annual, national observance – officially sponsored by First Quality in 2023 – provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and local communities to celebrate the individuals who live and work in assisted living and learn more about this sector of long term care.

“National Assisted Living Week is always a special time of year,” said NCAL Executive Director LaShuan Bethea. “The caregivers, residents, and families in assisted living share an extraordinary bond. This year’s theme gives us the chance to recognize and thank those who truly make communities across the country a loving home and welcome the sense of renewal that comes with the changing season.”
Established by NCAL in 1995, National Assisted Living Week (NALW) will be held Sept. 10-16, 2023. “Season of Reflection” encourages assisted living communities around the country to host a variety of events that honor the individuals who reside, work, and volunteer in these communities while adhering to infection control requirements and precautions.

“It is a privilege for First Quality to serve as the official sponsor of 2023 National Assisted Living Week,” said Sima Delafraz, Chief Commercial Officer. “This year, we are encouraged to pause for a moment and reflect. We are incredibly grateful to the families and health care professionals who dedicate their lives to caring for others and are honored to be a part of this extraordinary week.”
The “Season of Reflection” logo is available for download to assisted living communities, stakeholders, and members of the public on the NALW website. In the coming months, NCAL will issue a planning guide and products centered on ways to celebrate “Season of Reflection.” Participants are asked to share their celebrations throughout the week on social media with the hashtag #NALW.
