Marketplaces. These State-based and Federally-supported State-based Marketplaces provide Americans and small businesses with choices for affordable coverage. State-based Marketplaces can be either Below are some helpful resources for you as an employer.

 

 Resources for Employers

 
  • The ACA contains certain responsibilities for employers.  According to the IRS.gov website, the size and structure of your workforce – small, large, or part of a group – helps determine what applies to you. 
  • SHOP was created in the ACA, and is a new way for small businesses who have 50 employees or fewer to buy health insurance for their employees.  More information on SHOP for employers can be found on HealthCare.gov
  • The U.S. Department of Labor ACA website includes information for employers and resources on the health insurance marketplace.
  • Resources for professional preparing for the marketplace can be found on this Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website.
