Thank You for Supporting a Day for NFP Providers at Convention

AHCA/NCAL’s constituency education program for NFP providers was held in October 2017, in Las Vegas, NV, and was packed with motivational and educational speakers

industry innovator, Navy SEAL commander, and author.  He is pioneering a new category of leadership and challenging conventional management principles. Mills has a proven track record of turning individuals into teammates and teammates into unstoppable teams.  He shared his four pillars with participants to building and leading unstoppable teams and why his leadership mantra, “To lead is to serve and to serve is to care,” is the foundation of his Real Leaders C.A.R.E. methodology.  Participants also had the opportunity to hear from other top-notch speakers. To learn more about this day, which will be held again at the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo in San Diego, CA, on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, please don’t hesitate to contact AHCA’s Senior Director of NFP & Constituent Services, Dana Halvorson.


2017 NFP Trustee of the Year & Program of the Year Award Recipients 
The AHCA/NCAL Trustee of the Year award was presented to Peter Miesburger from Maine Veterans’ Home, Augusta, Maine. The award recognizes a trustee who demonstrates several key attributes, including a commitment to faithfully executing the functions of the board, fostering effective board practices, showing a passion toward the organization’s mission, and, lastly, being willing to devote the time and energy necessary to be successful.  The NFP Program of the Year was awarded to Trinity Oaks Health and Rehab Life Enrichment, Trinity Oaks Health and Rehab, Salisbury, N.C. The Not for Profit Program of the Year award highlights a specific program that adds value to the care of individuals within a community.

AHCA/NCAL Housing Site
AHCA/NCAL has its first ever senior housing website, a resource for AHCA/NCAL members nationwide that provide senior housing.  Members can visit this page to access resources and read updates from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Congress. Senior housing news will continue to be featured in Capitol Connection and Not For Profit News.
