About the Speaker:
Abe Sutton serves as the Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and Deputy Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Before assuming this role in January 2025, he was a Principal at Rubicon Founders where he co-founded two health service companies: Honest Health, which focuses on enabling primary care physicians, and Evergreen Nephrology, which focuses on enabling nephrologists. Sutton focused on health policy with the federal government from 2017 to 2019, serving at the National Economic Council, the Domestic Policy Council, and the Department of Health and Human Services. In these roles, he coordinated health policy across the federal government, with a focus on the shift to paying-for-value within Medicare, increasing choice and competition in healthcare markets, and updating the federal government’s approach to kidney care.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Mark Atalla serves as the Deputy National Coordinator for Programs and Implementation at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). His work centers on advancing technology-driven health policy, focusing on ways digital tools and intelligent systems can enhance behavior change, lower healthcare spending, and support delegated financial risk models.

He brings extensive experience from a large, distributed healthcare organization with more than 2,000 clinics nationwide, as well as leadership roles across pharmacy benefit management, community pharmacy, and hospital pharmacy operations.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Atalla served as a Senior Advisor at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for Innovation, where he led key Medicare Advantage and Part D initiatives at the CMS Innovation Center—including the Part D Senior Savings Model, Part D Payment Modernization Model, and Medicare Advantage Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID) Model.
