This session reviews the regulatory requirements and explores how to balance health and safety needs with what is important to the resident during the baseline care plan timeframe. Trauma-informed care recognizes that individuals experience and respond to trauma differently, and that overwhelming stress can affect behavior, mood, and trust. This session focuses on understanding trauma-informed approaches that help avoid triggers, promote comfort and trust, and support a calm, respectful environment for residents.
