The Caring for Seniors Act (
H.R. 3000) was recently introduced by House of Representatives members Lori Trahan (D-MA) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA). This bill aims to bolster the senior living workspace by investing in workforce development programs focused on meeting the needs of older adults. The bill also would establish a “cost reduction program” for qualified low-income seniors, to help pay for room and board in assisted living.
Currently there is no Senate companion bill. NCAL supports the Caring for Seniors Act and will keep members apprised of any updates around it.
