November is National Family Caregivers Month

Events

Celebrated every November, National Family Caregivers Month (NFCM) is a time to recognize and honor family caregivers across the country.  According to the Administration for Community Living (ACL) website, “It offers an opportunity to raise awareness of caregiving issues, educate communities, and increase support for caregivers.”

The national observance is spearheaded by Caregiver Action Network (CAN), a nonprofit that provides free education, peer support, and resources to family caregivers. #CaregivingInCrisis is the 2020 theme. CAN notes on their website that, “Family caregivers manage health emergencies, juggle priorities, and suffer isolation - and all that was before COVID. The pandemic brings even more challenges as family caregivers handle Caregiving in Crisis.”
