While Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programming and planning may be a regulatory requirement, AHCA/NCAL has some QAPI tools and resources to help your facility’s QAPI team move from regulation fulfillment to a full-on QAPI superhero squad. AHCA/NCAL and the AHCA Quality Improvement Committee are pleased to announce 8 new tools to help member organizations boost and maximize their QAPI team’s efforts.
These new tools include:
- QM Drilldown Quick Reference Tool Rehospitalization
- QM Drilldown Quick Reference Tool Pressure Sores
- QM Drilldown Quick Reference Tool Antipsychotic Medication
- QM Drilldown Quick Reference Tool Falls
- QAPI Sustainability Plan
- QAPI Meeting Agenda Template
- QAPI Meeting Minutes Template
- Key Performance Indicators 101
The meeting templates and drilldown tools are a must-have for any superhero toolbox. QAPI agenda and minutes templates were generated to assist centers in developing an effective method to organize and record QAPI meetings. These templates are intended to be personalized and tailored to reflect your facilities priorities. An AHCA/NCAL member and provider who has implemented these templates shared “the format keeps meetings on track, ensuring the appropriate items are covered, action is initiated when indicated, and follow ups occur. Implementation keeps the committee out of the rut of “continue to monitor” and captures corrective actions with assignment of responsibilities.”
No matter the superpowers and supermembers, every group and process must be reassessed to ensure ongoing effectiveness. The QAPI Sustainability Plan is a resource that providers can utilize to evaluate their current QAPI plan to identify and address gaps.
Is your QAPI team lacking the power of foresight? We have the tool for you! We are proud to introduce four Quality Measure Drilldown tools that were created to help providers examine which factors will negatively impact falls, antipsychotic medication, pressure sores, and rehospitalizations.
To round out the QAPI team’s toolkit, member organizations can complete a Key Performance Indicators 101 webinar at their own pace. This webinar will help providers define and select Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), choose appropriate comparative data, collect and analyze data, and provide guidance on using KPIs in a QAPI program.
