WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) announced today that beginning July 1, the association will represent long term and post-acute care providers in Texas through affiliation with the Texas Nursing Home Coalition (TNHC), further strengthening both of the associations’ networks, quality initiatives, and advocacy efforts.
“We are excited to welcome the Texas Nursing Home Coalition as a state affiliate as we continue to bring the long term care sector together nationwide," said AHCA/NCAL President & CEO Clif Porter. “The providers of Texas uniting around the TNHC highlights their commitment to strengthening quality care and our collective voice. This dedication, which is uniform throughout our members, allows us to work jointly as a profession to deliver solutions for those we serve."
“With Texas’ aging population growing, nursing home providers recognize the duty and privilege to deliver high-quality resident care,” said Texas Nursing Home Coalition Executive Director, Eddie Parades. “Bringing together nearly 800 nursing homes under the TNHC umbrella strengthens our partnership with AHCA/NCAL, as we continue building a stronger, more unified voice to help shape the future of care. We look forward to improving policy, advancing resident care, and advocating for providers, residents, and caregivers.”
Today’s announcement follows a vote last month by the board of the Texas Health Care Association, AHCA/NCAL’s previous state affiliate, to unify the state’s representation under TNHC. Texas providers have created a more streamlined structure for advocacy, resources, education, and member engagement across the state. AHCA/NCAL is working closely with Texas leaders to facilitate a smooth membership transition leading up to July 1.
As the Texas state affiliate, TNHC is officially part of the largest association in the United States serving long term and post-acute care providers, representing more than 15,000 facilities. Members benefit from the organization's advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C., as well as access to exclusive resources, programs, and events that support AHCA/NCAL’s mission of improving lives by delivering solutions for quality care.
