On January 15, Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kan.) and Rep. Josh Harder (D-Calif.) reintroduced the
Ensuring Seniors’ Access to Quality Care Act (H.R. 7096). This bill allows nursing homes to continue operating their in-house CNA training program even if they incur fines above a certain amount, so long as the fines are issued for reasons unrelated to direct resident care.
On the same date, Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02) and Rep. Debbie Dingell (MI-06) introduced the
Enhancing Skilled Nursing Facilities Act (H.R. 7106) to empower nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and clinical nurse specialists to provide certain care in skilled nursing facilities to streamline care, reduce delays, and improve access for patients on Medicare and Medicaid.
