AHCA/NCAL, along with over 150 stakeholder organizations, signed a
joint letter to the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Dr. Mehmet Oz, to again encourage further permanent telehealth policy enhancements to assure uninterrupted beneficiary access to telehealth services for providers that furnish telehealth services from their home versus when furnished from an office setting.
Specifically, the letter focuses on developing more rational and less burdensome policy solutions for virtual-only practitioners working from home-based locations. Additionally, the letter encourages the Administrator to collaborate with the Drug Enforcement Administration to encourage a complimentary solution for telehealth practitioners who report a practice location when prescribing controlled substances.
