Programs and Resources; Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)

The Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) is the nationally recognized education program required for certification through the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP). Their Activity Director Certified (ADC) course prepares activity professionals to enhance the quality of life for older adults in nursing facility, assisted living, and community-based settings.

The ADC course is self-paced and provides the educational foundation required for individuals seeking eligibility to apply for NCCAP’s ADC credential. This credential meets the professional standards of practice to lead, manage, and direct an activities and life enrichment department and evaluate its effectiveness. The ADC credential helps ensure compliance with F680 – the CMS requirements for activity professional qualifications.

ADC course registration includes the national ADC certification exam, a two-year recognition of the NCCAP ADC credential upon successfully completing the exam with a score of 70 percent or higher, and a two-year membership in the National Association of Activity Professionals.

Coursework integrates theory with real-world application, helping students understand the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of aging adults. Participants learn how to assess resident interests, develop meaningful life enrichment programs, understand aging and dementia, and meet regulatory and professional standards in long-term care and senior living.

Through an exclusive partnership with NCCAP, AHCA/NCAL members receive a $200 discount on the nationally recognized MEPAP ADC training and certification program. Simply use promo code AHCA at registration to claim your $200 savings on the regular $999 ADC program and certification exam fee.
