NHSN Flu Vaccination Reporting Deadline is Fast Approaching: May 18, 2026

Nursing homes must report staff influenza (flu) vaccination data to CDC’s NHSN system as part of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) SNF Quality Reporting Program (QRP). 

Deadline: May 18, 2026 (by 11:59 PM) 
Penalty for missing the deadline: 2% reduction in Medicare payments beginning October 1, 2026 

What to report: 
  • One report covering the full flu season (October 1, 2025 – March 31, 2026)

  • Don’t wait: Submit your data as soon as possible to avoid last-minute issues.  
  • Use the correct form:  
    • Submit through the Healthcare Personnel Influenza Vaccination Summary Form  
    • ​Do not use the optional Seasonal Survey
