Apprenticeship Accommodations Toolkit

Workforce

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) supports apprenticeship opportunities for career seekers, including people with disabilities. Its Apprenticeship Accommodations Toolkit offers tips, strategies, and resources to improve workplace accommodations and supports for individuals with a disability pursuing apprenticeship programs and pre-apprenticeship programs. ODEP notes that these resources can also benefit related work-based learning, such as career and technical education.

AHCA/NCAL is partnering with Equus Workforce Solutions to offer long term care apprenticeship programs. Some of the many benefits of an apprenticeship program include building a pipeline of skilled workers, gaining workers with customized skills, and enhancing employee retention and employer reputation.
