The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a
new video to support infection prevention efforts in nursing home communities.
The video highlights simple actions residents and staff can take to help reduce the spread of germs, including:
- Keeping hands and surfaces clean
- Staying away from others when sick
- Wearing a mask when sick
- Letting others know when they do not feel well
Both residents and staff play an important role in maintaining a safe and healthy nursing home community.
The CDC encourages nursing homes to share the video through internal broadcast systems, staff education and training materials, and resident admission, or orientation programs.
