The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is notifying skilled nursing facilities that were found to be out of compliance with Skilled Nursing Facility Quality Reporting Program (SNF QRP) requirements for calendar year (CY) 2025. Facilities that do not meet the reporting requirements will receive a 2-percentage point reduction to their FY 2027 Annual Payment Update (APU).

What You Need to Know

  • August 5, 2026: CMS posted non-compliance notification letters in the My Reports folder in the Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES). Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) are also distributing notification letters.

  • September 4, 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET): Deadline to submit a request for reconsideration if you believe your facility was incorrectly determined to be non-compliant.

If your facility receives a non-compliance notice and you plan to request reconsideration, review the instructions available on the SNF Quality Reporting Reconsideration and Exception & Extension webpage.

AHCA/NCAL members with questions about the SNF QRP, non-compliance notifications, or the reconsideration process can contact the Regulatory team at regulatory@ahca.org.
