CMS Updates Visitation Guidance for ICF/IID COVID-19; CMS Published:June 09, 2021 covid19@ahca.org Rollup Image Page ContentLast week, CMS issued new guidance for visitation at Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICFs/IID) and Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTFs) during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) to include the impact of the COVID-19 vaccination. CMS notes in the memo that “the guidance provides ways an ICF/IID and PRTF can more safely facilitate in-person visitation and address the psychosocial needs of clients/residents.” CMS encourage all ICFs/IID and PRTFs to monitor the CDC website for information and resources and contact their health department when needed.
