December 6-7, 2021
JW Marriott Washington, DC
The 2021 Population Health Management Summit will introduce you to how provider-owned networks work and explain the what and the why.

In a provider-owned network, different providers formally join together, which allows them to

  • leverage administrative economies of scale
  • negotiate value-based managed care contracts
  • maximize efficiencies and quality outcomes

A provider-owned network can enhance quality outcomes and value-based reimbursement while decreasing administrative costs. And health plans prefer to work with larger networks versus single facilities and smaller companies. Provider networks create the volume needed to negotiate with plans.

Specific sessions focused on provider-owned networks include:

Opportunities and Challenges with Provider Networks in Value-Based Care
Speakers: Katie Colgan, Executive Director, Network Development, AHCA/NCAL; Tim Grimes, Chief Executive Officer, Concentric Health

As CMS and third-party payers continue to shift to value-based payment and care models, opportunities are less available for post-acute and long term care providers to lead or participate in such models. One barrier is low volume, which is overcome by creating or joining provider-led or provider-owned networks. In this session, leaders in provider networks will discuss both the opportunities and challenges, with a focus on different types of provider networks, quality and efficiency priorities in value-based care, and how AHCA/NCAL providers can lead the way in defining and creating better outcomes and revenues for our sector.

Structured Networking Session: Provider-Owned Networks

You’ll make connections and learn about specific challenges and share strategies and solutions. This session is a great opportunity to talk to others who are already in provider-owned networks, hear about their experiences, and gain some new perspectives.

Come hear about the opportunities and challenges in provider-owned networks and meet with providers already in existing networks at the PHM Summit.
