As Congress continues to shape the future of health care policy, it is important to make your voice heard on Capitol Hill. By attending AHCA/NCAL’s Congressional Briefing June 8-9 in Washington, D.C., you will have the chance to do exactly that by sharing your stories directly with lawmakers and making a real impact.
What We’re Advocating For
- U.S. lawmakers recently introduced the Medicare Advantage Improvement Act (MAIA) of 2026 (S. 4384/H.R. 8375), a bipartisan, bicameral bill that addresses critical issues within Medicare Advantage (MA). The bill focuses on issues such as prior authorizations, prompt pay, payment clawbacks, and transparency. This is a big step towards ensuring the MA program delivers on its promise to provide seniors access to timely, medically necessary care.
- The Senate also recently reintroduced the Ensuring Seniors’ Access to Quality Care Act (S. 4467/H.R. 7096), bipartisan legislation aimed at addressing a nationwide shortage of certified nursing assistants (CNAs). The bill would allow nursing homes to resume in-house CNA education programs that were suspended once quality standards are met.
Your Voice Matters
The introduction of these bills in Congress has been a key legislative goal of AHCA/NCAL as part of The Better Way, AHCA/NCAL’s forward-looking policy agenda to deliver bold solutions for quality long term and post-acute care – including both MA and workforce.
