NCAL Endorses SENIOR Act Bill

Assisted Living; Legislative; Workforce

The Safeguarding Elderly Needs for Innovation and Occupational Resources (SENIOR) Act (H.R. 7605) was recently introduced by House of Representatives members Lori Trahan (D-MA) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA). This bill aims to bolster the senior living workspace by investing in workforce development programs focused on meeting the needs of older adults. The bill also would establish a “cost reduction program” for low-income seniors, who qualify, to pay for room and board in assisted living.

Currently there is no Senate companion bill. NCAL supports the SENIOR Act and will keep members apprised of any updates around it.
