To anticipate recommendations for additional COVID-19 vaccine series, the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) is updating their COVID-19 Vaccine data collection form and table of instructions to reflect the latest recommendations for additional doses.
Changes are outlined below:
- Question #2 adds the word “primary” to reflect the original vaccine dose(s).
- Question #4 was added for facilities to report on the cumulative (total) number of individuals eligible to receive an additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Question #5 was added for facilities to report on the cumulative (total) number of individuals who received an additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
NHSN also will be updating the personnel categories this fall with more details to come. Training webinars will be conducted in late August and recordings will be posted to the NHSN website.
