U.S. Department of Labor Launches Open Data Portal

Workforce

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) recently launched an open data portal for users to access data related to the American workforce. According to the DOL, the portal helps bring the department into alignment with the OPEN Government Data Act of 2019 and the Federal Data Strategy established during President Trump’s first administration.

The new portal will replace the department’s enforcement data page, which was decommissioned on February 23, and will include a wider variety of data from many agencies. The portal also includes a data visualization gallery and a modern Application Programming Interface. The DOL noted it plans to enhance the portal’s search capability, expand data sets, ensure AI integration, and add more tools to help users interact with the data.
