Albertville Nursing Home and Barfield Health Care, 2023 Silver Awards,-2023-Silver-Awards.aspxAlbertville Nursing Home and Barfield Health Care, 2023 Silver Awards9/28/2023 4:00:00 AM“As sister facilities in Schmidt Wallace Healthcare Management, Barfield Health Care and Albertville Nursing Home both submitted applications and were recognized as Silver Quality Award recipients in 2023. Using the Silver Criteria, we were able to identify and assess our key processes. After nearly three years of “pandemic panic" and all the challenges we were faced with, from fear for our residents to keeping up with the ever-changing requirements and staffing issues, it was such a validating experience to realize that we have consistently stayed true to our mission through it all. We exist to enhance the lives of those we serve, and, above all, we will keep our residents first. <div><br></div><div>In the midst of dealing with day-to-day issues, especially during COVID, it can be easy to overlook the good things. There were SO MANY good things! Of course, we also found opportunities! So, we made a list, prioritized the ones that were most important, and created action plans. We have now resumed all Customer and Employee survey processes that had been temporarily suspended, enhanced our Key Performance Measure, and created a Back-to-Basics Leadership training model to ensure our leader focus and facility approaches are anchored on a solid Quality foundation. We dedicate our Silver Quality Awards to the memory of Patti Wallace, our owner, founder, and a true quality champion."<br><br></div><blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 0px 40px;border:none;padding:0px;"><div><strong>Emily Tinsley</strong></div><div><strong>Albertville Nursing Home in Alabama</strong></div><div><strong>Skilled Nursing/ Rehabilitation</strong></div></blockquote><blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 0px 40px;border:none;padding:0px;"><div><p><strong>2002 Bronze </strong></p></div><div><p><strong>2004 Silver</strong></p></div><div><p><strong>2023 Silver</strong></p></div></blockquote><blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 0px 40px;border:none;padding:0px;"><div> </div><div><strong>Barfield Healthcare in Alabama</strong></div><div><strong>Skilled Nursing/ Rehabilitation</strong></div></blockquote><blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 0px 40px;border:none;padding:0px;"><div><p><strong>2022 Bronze</strong></p></div><div><p><strong>2023 Silver</strong></p></div></blockquote><div> <br>Long term and post-acute care providers nationwide are improving lives and inspiring excellence daily through the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) National Quality Award Program.<br> <br>Visit <a href="/Quality/National-Quality-Award-Program/Pages/default.aspx" data-feathr-click-track="true" data-feathr-link-aids="["60b7cbf17788425491b2d083"]" target="_blank"></a> and tell us how your Quality Award journey has impacted your residents, staff, and organization!  <br> <br>Be sure to <a href="/Quality/National-Quality-Award-Program/Pages/default.aspx" data-feathr-click-track="true" data-feathr-link-aids="["60b7cbf17788425491b2d083"]" target="_blank">submit your 2024 Intent to Apply (ITA) </a>in the Portal which is now open!<br><br><br></div>

For example, we wanted to enhance our customer satisfaction scores. We were able to not only to increase them but were able to be above state and national averages for families and residents. However, none of it would have been possible without routine staff. We were able to eliminate agency usage in July 2022 and have held a turnover rate that is below the national average. In addition, because we had routine staff we admitted and reached full capacity in December 2022. Overall, at Joe-Anne Burgin Health & Rehabilitation, we embrace excellence and want to continue our quality award journey to be the best skilled nursing facility we can be for our community!"<br></div><div> <br></div><blockquote style="margin:0px 0px 0px 40px;border:none;padding:0px;"><div><em><strong>Adrian Lewis</strong></em></div><div><em><strong>Joe-Anne Burgin Health & Rehabilitation in Georgia</strong></em></div><div><em><strong>Skilled Nursing/ Rehabilitation</strong></em></div><div><em><strong>2023 Silver Award</strong></em></div><div><em><strong>2022 Bronze Award</strong></em></div><div><em><br></em></div></blockquote><div>Long term and post-acute care providers nationwide are improving lives and inspiring excellence daily through the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) National Quality Award Program.</div><div><br></div><div>Visit <a href="/Quality/National-Quality-Award-Program/Pages/default.aspx" data-feathr-click-track="true" data-feathr-link-aids="["60b7cbf17788425491b2d083"]" target="_blank"></a> and tell us how your Quality Award journey has impacted your residents, staff, and organization!  </div><div><br></div><div>Be sure to submit your<a href="/Quality/National-Quality-Award-Program/Pages/default.aspx" data-feathr-click-track="true" data-feathr-link-aids="["60b7cbf17788425491b2d083"]" target="_blank"> 2024 Intent to Apply (ITA) </a>in the Portal which is now open!</div><div><br><br></div><p><br><br></p>
