LTC Data Cooperative Welcomes New EHR Vendor: BlueStep Systems

Long Term Care; Research and Data

AHCA/NCAL is pleased to announce that BlueStep Systems has joined the LTC Data Cooperative as an approved electronic health record (EHR) vendor partner.

The LTC Data Cooperative is a first of its kind, provider-led data resource that aggregates electronic health record data from skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities nationwide. Supported by funding from the National Institute on Aging (NIA), the Cooperative is designed to advance four core objectives:

  1. Healthcare operations and population health analytics
  2. Public health surveillance
  3. Observational and comparative effectiveness research
  4. Clinical research studies

Advancing Data-Driven Quality Improvement

The mission of the LTC Data Cooperative is to improve care quality across post-acute and long term care settings by assembling the most comprehensive dataset of resident health information available. These data are transformed into accessible, actionable insights that support clinicians, administrators, researchers, and policymakers in making informed decisions that enhance resident outcomes.

Growing EHR Vendor Participation

With the addition of BlueStep Systems, the Cooperative now partners with four major EHR vendors:

  • PointClickCare
  • MatrixCare
  • Yardi
  • BlueStep Systems

This expansion opens the door for even more long term care and post-acute care providers to participate, particularly those already using these systems.

Benefits for Participating Providers

Participation in the LTC Data Cooperative is free for providers. Once enrolled, the Cooperative securely extracts EHR data on the provider’s behalf and develops meaningful analytic reports tailored to support quality improvement efforts. These insights help organizations:

  • Strengthen clinical decision-making
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Benchmark performance
  • Enhance resident care and services
