New Revised LTC Survey Guidance Resources Available Regulations; CMS; Long Term Care Published:February 04, 2025 regulatory@ahca.org Rollup Image Page ContentOn November 18, 2024, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released Revised Long-Term Care (LTC) Surveyor Guidance: Significant revisions to enhance quality and oversight of the LTC Survey Process. The memo included significant changes to guidance in Appendix PP related to several regulatory areas. The memo was updated on January 16, 2025, to include additional updates to guidance. The updated memo delayed the implementation of all changes for when surveyors will begin surveying based on the revised guidance, to March 24, 2025. Over the next several weeks, AHCA will release Action Briefings related to the guidance updates. Three new action briefings regarding Comprehensive Assessment after Significant Change, Activities of Daily Living, Accuracy of Assessment, and PBJ reporting have been posted to the AHCA Survey Regulatory page. The action briefs include an outline of significant changes made and action items facilities may take to achieve compliance in these areas. In addition, the CPR Survey tip was updated to reflect the updated guidance.
